about

Kavalanic Languages 2/5

Bill Westerby comes from a nice family, landing a decent posting for what may or may not be British Intelligence, but he feels out of place. His interests are decidedly more modest (brandy and sodas, nightclubs) than the broader geopolitical ones he must concern himself with day to day, but he's got this position now, so he must deserve it. Westerby’s trained paranoia keeps him alert most of the time, but his rabbit chases typically end up at the local discotheques, which his handlers would mind a lot less if he could just keep it all together.

KL02 is a product of some of those not entirely regrettable nights out. “K-Stream” is a vibrant recollection of a particularly raucous boat cruise down the Mekong, while “Down A Back Alley In Cholon” is a more upbeat cut from his days spent in Cholon’s seedier nightclubs. After tailing one too many leads that never really existed in the first place through southern Vietnam, Westerby landed in the Bahamas for something of a mandatory “sabbatical”, resulting in the loopy, unfurling house atmosphere of “Caye De Crabe”.
